Annotated Bibliography On Computer Food Security System

Aadhaar Enabled Public Distribution System (AEPDS): PDS is well known to the masses as Ration Card System. PDS is an Indian food security system established by the Government of India under Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution on June 1997 and managed jointly with State governments in India. It distributes subsidized food and non-food items to India’s poor. Its origination can be credited to the famine of Bengal which occurred in the 1940’s was revived in 60’s when there was an acute food shortage in the country before green revolution. In a layman’s language, it is a system that ensures that every citizen of the country, no matter what his/her financial background is, gets sufficient ration (food, Ex- sugar, rice, wheat, kerosene oil etc.) for their daily needs. For serving this purpose the first step was to decide who really needs such incentives what are the basis on which the population should be categorized.
